Ask about academic access
Include your institution, role, intended use, approximate number of users, and the product or host you need. Explain any classroom, procurement, privacy, or installation constraints.
Before relying on an offer, confirm:
- Eligibility and permitted uses.
- Included features and usage allowance.
- Duration, payment requirements, and what happens when the offer ends.
- Whether individual accounts or team coverage are appropriate.
Academic access is not a guaranteed free grant, unlimited AI allowance, or manufacturing credit. Do not assume an older education application link or promotion remains active.
Prepare a class or student team
- Check Availability for your machines and host editors.
- Follow Installation on a representative machine.
- Test a small saved design using the workflow students will follow.
- Review Billing and any confirmed academic terms before enabling paid work.
- Establish how students will review components, ERC/DRC findings, and exported files.
AI assistance and simulation do not replace instructor or engineering review. A completed task is not approval to manufacture or operate hardware.
Organize a workshop
For a course or event, tell the team the audience, schedule, expected attendance, and assistance you need. Ask what support is available rather than assuming licenses, sponsorship, materials, or a response deadline.
