Sign In with Email Link

Trace supports passwordless authentication. Instead of remembering a password, you can sign in with a one-time link sent to your email.

How It Works

  1. On the login page, click Sign in with email link instead
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Click Send sign-in link
  4. Check your inbox for an email from Trace
  5. Click the link in the email — you’re signed in
The link expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, go back to the login page and request a new one.

  • Each magic link can only be used once
  • Links expire after 10 minutes
  • The link is tied to the specific email address — it cannot be used by a different account
  • If you’re signing in from the desktop app, you’ll be redirected back to the app automatically after authentication
Magic links are an alternative to password-based login. You can still use your password if you prefer. Both methods work with the same account.
