Intelligent Tools
Trace includes intelligent tools that help you design circuits using natural language. Describe what you want to build, and Trace guides you through component selection, schematic creation, and PCB layout.
How It Works
Trace uses machine learning models trained on electronics knowledge to understand your design intent. It can:
- Suggest appropriate components for your application
- Calculate component values (resistors, capacitors, etc.)
- Generate schematic connections
- Assist with PCB component placement
- Answer questions about your design
Chat Interface
The chat panel is located on the right side of the application. Type your request in natural language, and Trace responds with suggestions, questions, or actions.
Design Modes
Trace operates in different modes depending on your current task:

Approval Workflow

- Modify - Ask for adjustments before proceeding
- Reject - Cancel and try a different approach
Limitations
These tools accelerate your workflow but don't replace engineering judgment. Always review generated designs for correctness, especially for safety-critical applications.
